Your “About Us” Page
July 7, 2010 – 9:00 am |Every site has an about page, but how useful are they?
Our opinion is that they are very useful because they provide a couple things:
- Least of all, its one more page of content on your site for search engines to slurp up
- It gives your visitors a feeling of who you are on a personal level
- You can use this page for many different things including:
- Your mission statement
- Links to your author profile pages
- Contact information
- The list goes on and on
- Visitors to your site can get a sense of purpose for your site, if your about page is done correctly.
Added to all of the above, you can get at least one free link back to your site by submitting it to the AboutUs.org website. This site will read your “About Us” page and build a wiki article all about your site.
