How to Set Your Copyright to Automatically Update Each Year

2011 is here and a lot of updating activities are surely in line. New year’s resolutions, wishes and  setting targets are just some of  things we  look forward to do. As bloggers, we are keen to update our blogs, however some forgot to update the copyright date.

This is the best time to update the copyright date of our blogs  and do it automatically . I am going to show you what I did to ensure automatic updating of my copyright date so you’ll never have to update it again!

Here is a simple way to do it.

1.  Login to WordPress backend and click on Appearance>Editor of WP Dashboard as shown below.

2.  Click on footer.php located on the right side bar as shown below.

3. Locate 2010 besides Copyright as shown below and replace it with <?php echo date(‘Y’); ?>.

4. It should now look like the image below.

5.  Click Update File button to save changes as shown below.

6.  Refresh the page of your site and view the footer area.  Notice now that the year is change automatically as shown below.

And Voila, you’ll never have to do this again!
